History

It all started in 2003 as “music on the meadow – a party for Larry” where local villagers and the community came together for the first-ever large-scale outdoor music event to be held at Court Meadow in Mayfield, on the High Weald in East Sussex.

This 12 hour music festival proved enormously popular, with over 3,500 attendees enjoying a wide and varied programme of entertainers and musicians. Building on the success of this event the organisers – all voluntary trustees – presented progressively more comprehensive and varied events for the local community, including a series of indoor music events and two further large outdoor events, mmm05 and mmm07, which featured The Counterfeit Stones and attracted nearly 5,000 people.
